CIVIC PARK ELEMENTARY FLINT, MICHIGAN
Civic Park Studio is named for the Elementary School where, at 8 years old, I met my future husband. The history of Civic Park Neighborhood, built by General Motors during and after the First World War, is quite rich. It is where the school was centered and where I lived for most of my childhood. It took months to settle on this name. In the end I felt that Civic Park had an upscale ring to it and it holds a significant place in my personal history and the history of the city were I was born and raised.
